Family
Family has always been at the heart of Dennis's life. Growing up in Underwood, he learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and helping neighbors from the people closest to him. Those same values continue to guide him as a small business owner, community volunteer, and leader. Dennis believes that strong families are the foundation of strong communities and is committed to making Pottawattamie County a place where families can thrive for generations to come.
Dennis has spent many years giving back to the community through service, leadership, and mentorship. As a member of a local school board, he worked to support students, teachers, and taxpayers while helping guide decisions that strengthen educational opportunities. He has also volunteered as a basketball coach, teaching young athletes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Through his involvement with the local Optimist Club, Dennis has supported programs and initiatives that invest in youth and improve the quality of life throughout the community. He believes that strong communities are built by neighbors who are willing to serve and make a difference.
Bringing more than 45 years of professional experience in the insurance industry, Dennis has developed expertise in risk assessment, financial management, strategic planning, and problem-solving. In addition to his insurance career, he is a local small business owner who understands the challenges facing local employers, families, and taxpayers. Dennis earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, providing him with a strong foundation in leadership, finance, and organizational management. Combined with his experience serving on a local school board and coaching youth sports, Dennis offers a practical, results-oriented approach to serving the residents of Pottawattamie County.
